6 Effective Ways to Remove Spray Paint:
From Skin and Various Materials

You are reading this blogpost so chances are that you are painting graffiti, and chanses are also that you often get paint where paint shouldn’t go. We’ve been there, so we’ve collected the best tips for you to remove the spray paint before you get in trouble.

Accidents happen, and sometimes you may end up with spray paint on areas you didn’t mean to cover. Whether it’s on your skin or on various materials, it’s important to act quickly to remove the paint before it has a chance to set in.
Here are 6 of the most effective ways to remove spray paint.

Removing spray paint from skin

  1. Use rubbing alcohol: Rubbing alcohol is a powerful solvent that can easily remove spray paint from skin. Simply soak a cotton ball or cloth in rubbing alcohol and gently rub it on the affected area. Wash your skin with soap and water to remove any leftover residue. You can also use some skin-care products afterwards to re moisturise your hands.
  2. Use hand sanitizer: Hand sanitizer is another effective way to remove spray paint from skin. It contains alcohol, which will help to dissolve the paint. Apply the hand sanitizer to the affected area and scrub it in with a cloth or sponge. Rinse your skin with water to remove any leftover residue. Again, re moisturising is important.
  3. Use soap and water: If you don’t have any rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer while on the street painting, you can also use soap and water to remove spray paint from your skin. Simply wash the affected area with soap and water and scrub it with a cloth or sponge. Rinse your skin thoroughly to remove any leftover soap or paint. We like to use very, very hot water.

Removing spray paint from different materials:

  1. Use a commercial graffiti remover: There are a variety of commercial graffiti removers available that are specifically designed to remove spray paint from various surfaces, including metal, plastic, and glass. Follow the instructions on the label to remove the paint.
  2. Use acetone: Acetone is a powerful solvent that can be used to remove spray paint from a variety of surfaces. Simply apply a small amount of acetone to a cloth or sponge and scrub the affected area.
  3. Use baking soda and water: Make a paste by mixing equal parts baking soda and water. Apply the paste to the affected area and scrub it with a cloth or sponge. Rinse the area with water to remove any leftover paste.

Whether you’re dealing with spray paint on your skin or on various materials, there are a variety of ways to effectively remove it. From using rubbing alcohol and hand sanitiser to commercial graffiti removers and baking soda and water, there’s a solution for every situation. Just be sure to act quickly and use the right method for the material you’re working with. With some elbow grease, you can remove spray paint from any surface. But hey, you could also just call it a new art piece if you spill paint on your landlords floor – just remember to sign it.
